We are delighted to invite you to a unique event in the world of music. On April 19, 2026, at 6:00 PM, the Galicia Jewish Museum will host the concert Laks Rediscovered, featuring the Polish premiere of the recently rediscovered String Quartet No. II by Szymon Laks (1932), a work that disappeared from musical life for nearly a century, presented here in our interpretation.
The event will be accompanied by a panel discussion with the participation of Anna Rusin, a doctoral student at the Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music in Kraków, while carrying out a creative scholarship from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, reached the manuscripts of Szymon Laks, including the String Quartet No. 2 – a work previously considered lost, Messages Quartet, and Frank Harders-Wuthenow, a representative of the publishing house Boosey & Hawkes, which publishes the composer’s works.
